Don't have the funds to get a new rig atm so I upgraded my old 5770.
Now I'm running:
Q9650@3.73(max I could get out of the shitty mb which won't let me raise the FSB higher than 413)
8GB DDR2
1TB WD Black Caviar HDD
and a shiny new Asus 6970 which is the best video card I could fit in this setup that won't be bottlenecked by the CPU.
Seems to be pretty balanced so far as the Q9650 still manages to stay somewhat competitive even though it's ancient
Prolly gonna order a SSD soon as well.
Hoping BF3 will run smooth on high settings on 1920x1200 :D

Oh and Rza, what mouse you're gonna be using? Since it's kind of important in FPS' :P

So!.... T'all you fine dandies so proud, so cock-sure, prancin' aboot with your heads full of eyeballs! Come and get me I say! I'll be waiting on ya with a whiff of the 'ol brimstone. I'm a grim bloody fable, with an unhappy bloody end!

I've scrapped that last build, Phoned up and cancelled it. Just going to wait till next year when the new Ivy chips, PCe 3.0 etc are out before making a large investment in a new system.

Am now just buying a budget gaming PC overclocked thats tailored to run BF3 in decent settings.

Intel® Core™ i5 2500K Quad Core 3.3GHz 6MB cache LGA1155
Asus P8P67 P67 DDR3 Intel LGA1155
Kingston Hyper X Blu Series 8GB PC12800 DDR3/1600mhz Dual Channel Memory
CoolerMaster 850watt Silent ProModular Gaming Power Supply
60 GB Corsair Force Series 3 SATA III Gaming MLC Solid State Disk
1TB SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 7200RPM Hard Drive
Asus Xonar Essence STX PCI-E Audiophile Sound Card, Optical/Dolby Pro Logic II

Graphics card am still undecided.

I've used an old school Razer Diamondback mouse for like 5 years now, last year I got the updated 3G version, when my old one died but they actually don't manufacture them anymore as far as am aware so am screwed if this dies as its the only mouse I can play with. I've bought the apparent successors to it and they just don't have the same feel.

Its now in the legacy section on the razer site. :<

Such an awesome mouse, long may it live so I don't have to ebay a new one at a silly price.

I'm using a Roccat Kone+.
Not the most durable mouse since I had one exchanged so far because the wheel started acting strange 2 weeks from buying it. The new one is ok so far :P. I mainly chose this over the Logitech G9X or any Razer mouse because it is much larger and it fits my giant hands much better.
Easily the most configurable mouse out there(can set the lift off distance), I play at 1200 DPI and it's great that the driver lets me set the dpi in scales of 100. I keep it in a very very dusty enviroment and haven't experienced any issues so far.

Asetek 510LC / Xtremegear Liquid Cooling system w/ 120mm Radiator (For Ultra Slient/High Performance -- SHARKOON Eagle SE Ultra Slient Modular Fans, 500-1200rpm

The Steelseries Sensei seems to be all the rage atm for mouse in the SC2 scene. I wont change unless they bring a revised diamondback out.

I think the whole DPI mouse thing a load of jargon tbh. You get a mouse your comfortable with and you stick with it - oh and use the windows mouse fix thing to turn off the acceleration or w/e it is.

I got a decent deal on my system so thought i'd just bite the bullet and order a decent 580GTX - I swear I've tried everywhere and every last company is sold out of any reptuable card that scores high on review sites.
