If you still think there is something wrong with it, download and install Teamviewer from teamviewer.com and I will check your PC out remote for free. Just make sure you let me know an appropriate time.

I have been installing WinXP for the company I work for and made images which do need to be very precise as they go on to about 2000+ PC's =P

I used to use a program for CD burning that gave every of the 3 computers I tried it on the blue screen of death, although it was a temporary that could be fixed with a restart. Don't install those programs that are not very known or you feel could be dangerous.

One program had a virus that made my windows look like Windows 2000 after the restart... freaked me out :(

Nowadays its a hit or miss installing WinXP, if drivers are not correctly installed you will get BSOD and there is really nothing you could of done. Sometimes the installion could of gone corrupt. Also AV programs cause desaster too. Let us know how it goes, otherwise i'd take a look.

Service Pack 3 rapes your pc. Screws up DirectX etc. I wouldnt put it on if i were you. Raped my old PC twice in a row from fresh installs when I tried it.

Delete System32.

It'll just bog down the PC.

SP3 fixes a winlogon error we kept getting at work. But when SP3 first came out, it was the biggest risk installing it because depending what you have installed some things will have stopped working altogether. But now its safe to install.
