Think they just measured the angle between us, the sun & the object at both extremes of Earths orbit around the sun, and then knowing what Earths orbit is (i.e. 1 AU) you can use trig to work out how far away the other object is.

Sure Google will have something about it.

If genuinely interested check out a series called "Understanding the Universe". Bit (a lot) geeky, but really interesting.

No, I ... there is a competition from an UK bookstore I order books from, where they celebrate or whatnot a new book release by giving away a human size telescope.

I thought, "Why not."
If this thing will let me see other planets, then I'm all for it. I never win :( Last time they had pillows ... and one time they had a 12 months adoption of a llama ... O_o

So going by that article you posted, the answer would be Parallax, right? Maybe adding, triangulation wouldn't hurt.

Only if you pay for the shipping costs, which might as well be the same as the actual telescope O_o

I have a feeling random won't be using it for stargazing.....

A warning to all teenage girls around - say 100,000 mile radius with that bad boy? - of Aberdeen to keep their curtains drawn at all times If he gets his paws on it?

Seems fair? Yes?

A life, Jimmy. You know what that is? It’s the shit that happens while you’re waiting for moments that never come.
